A Teich School Garden System involves a substantial commitment by the school community. We are available to assist throughout the process.

PARENTS
Teich School Garden Systems can cost as little as $4,500 for a small day care center or as much as $30,000+ for a large elementary school, so a PTA/PTO-sponsored fund-raising campaign usually is necessary. Parents and families also help with garden maintenance and upkeep, especially during the summer.

TEACHERS
A school garden works best when principals and teachers are committed to working the garden system into the academic, sustainable and healthy living curriculums.

ADMINISTRATORS AND STAFF
Teich School Gardens have their greatest impact on young people when their introduction to a school is accompanied by improvements in school food-service menus. Children who celebrate -- and eat -- the spring and fall harvests from their own garden in the school cafeteria, and who simultaneously experience year-round improvements in menu choices in school and at home, quickly develop a new appreciation for healthy eating habits.
